Backstory
Founded back in the summer of 1999, The Garden Ridge Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (GRCPAAA) is a non-profit (Sec. 501 (c)3 of the IRS Code) organization whose purpose is:
To organize exclusively for charitable and educational purposes by bringing together graduates of the Garden Ridge Citizen Police Academy to enhance the relations between the community and the Garden Ridge Police force by:
- Supporting those residents who may need assistance through the Check on Your Neighbor (COYN) program
- Supporting the Police Department by providing resources and pro-active assistance through the Citizens Patrol program (CP)
- Sharing the views of the Police Department with other citizens to improve the efficiency of law enforcement in Garden Ridge.
