National Law Enforcement Week

May 10 - May 16

National Law Enforcement Week is an annual event held in May to honor the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the United States. It is centered around Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15, with the surrounding week designated as National Police Week. The observance was established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy through a joint resolution of Congress, which authorized the president to designate May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week containing that date as National Police Week.

Please consider thanking a police officer for keeping our community safe every day! Cards and letters can be sent to the Police Department as well and are very appreciated!
