First United Bank Bake Sale for Corey
The good folks over at First United Bank in Garden Ridge are hosting a scrumptious bake sale tomorrow through Friday (Nov. 15th-19th) to help raise funds for Officer Corey Hackenberg. Stop by and pick up a great baked item. While you’re at the bank you can make a donation to Corey’s Benefit account. You can also purchase a $15 meal ticket to his Benefit event at Blue Bonnet Palace on Dec. 2nd, from 5pm-8pm. Many businesses and individuals have already donated some fabulous items for the silent and live auctions, but we can always use more. Can’t make it to the bank to make a donation? Corey’s GoFundMe account is:
BBQ & Auction Benefit for Officer Corey Hackenberg
The GRCPAAA will be assisting the GRPD in their efforts to hold a BBQ and Auction Benefit for Officer Corey Hackenberg. For those who do not know, Officer Corey Hackenberg was involved in a very serious off-duty accident on August 8th. He was unconscious in ICU for 10 days and hospitalized another three weeks before being moved to rehabilitation. No one knows when Corey will complete his rehabilitation and be able to return to work. Corey is rapidly approaching the end of his paid vacation days and disability, even though many city employees donated some of their vacation days to help extend Corey’s paid absence from work. Corey needs help to pay for such things as his day-to-day expenses, mortgage payments, utility, and medical bills. We hope the proceeds from this Benefit will allow him to focus on his recovery and not his financial situation. In the meantime, keep praying for Corey and all of our police officers.
GRES Fall Festival – Volunteers Needed!
The Garden Ridge Elementary School (GRES) has asked the GRCPAAA for volunteers to assist CISD Resource Officers with pedestrians crossing between the GRES campus and the City parking lots.
The event is this Saturday, October 30th, from 11am-3pm at the GRES.
We’re doing this as a thank you to GRES for changing the date of their Fall Festival from the same day as the Car Show. Here is the link for this event:

Trunk or Treat – Volunteers Needed!
The Garden Ridge Police Department (GRPD) has requested four (4) volunteers to help with the Library’s Trunk or Treat event on Halloween.
This year the location of the Trunk or Treat event will be in the main Elementary School (GRES) parking lot, and we will act as crossing guards between the GRES campus and the City parking lots.
